A comprehensive guide to all capabilities and functions of the software

1. Installation & First Launch

Download LegalDan from the Microsoft Store. Click "Get" and the Store handles the installation automatically:

  • Choose language (Hebrew/English)
  • Choose installation folder (default recommended)
  • Check "Create desktop shortcut"
  • Click "Install" - installation takes less than a minute

On first launch you'll receive a 10-day free trial - all features are available without limitation.

2. The Main Screen

The main screen is divided into the following areas:

Menu Bar (top)

File, Settings, PDF Tools, Management, Help - access to all functions.

Main Documents Area

Here you'll add the main document (pleading) and secondary document (optional). Click "Choose..." to select a PDF file.

Action Buttons (top row)

  • W→PDF - Convert Word document to PDF
  • PDF→W - Convert PDF to Word
  • Rotate - Rotate pages by 90°/180°/270°
  • Split - Split PDF into separate files
  • Delete - Delete pages from a PDF file
  • Encrypt - Password-protect a PDF
  • Merge - Merge multiple PDF files into one
  • Watermark - Add transparent text on PDF pages
  • Extract - Extract specific pages from a PDF

Exhibits Table

List of all exhibits you've added - number, description, filename and page count.

Bottom Buttons

  • Add Files - Add PDF, Word or image files as exhibits
  • Import Folder - Import all files from a folder
  • Edit - Edit exhibit description
  • Delete - Remove exhibit from the list
  • Move Up/Down - Change exhibit order

"Create Merged Bundle" Button

The main button - creates the final exhibit book.

3. Adding Files

Files can be added in several ways:

  • Add Files - Select PDF, Word (.docx) or image (JPG, PNG) files
  • Import Folder - Load all files from an entire folder

Word files are automatically converted to PDF when added. Images are transparently converted to PDF.

After adding, you can edit the description of each exhibit by double-clicking or using the "Edit" button.

4. Creating an Exhibit Book

Click "Create Merged Bundle" and choose where to save the file. The software will create a professional PDF that includes:

  • Cover page - With case name, case number and lawyer details
  • Table of contents - Automatic with page numbers
  • Separator pages - Between each exhibit with the exhibit title
  • Page numbering - Continuous at the bottom left
  • Exhibits page - List of all exhibits

5. Word to PDF Conversion (W→PDF)

Click the W→PDF button in the top button row.

  • Select a Word file (.docx)
  • Choose where to save the PDF
  • The file will be converted in full quality within seconds

Conversion is performed using Microsoft Word (COM) - preserving all formatting, tables, images and fonts.

Requirement: Microsoft Word must be installed on the computer.

6. PDF to Word Conversion (PDF→W)

Click the PDF→W button in the button row.

  • Select a PDF file
  • Choose where to save the Word file
  • The file will be converted to DOCX within seconds

Conversion preserves text structure, tables and images. Works locally without internet.

7. PDF Tools

Page Rotation

Select a PDF file, choose pages to rotate (all / specific range), choose angle (90° / 180° / 270°). The rotated file will be saved.

PDF Split

Split a PDF file into separate files - by individual pages, ranges or fixed size.

PDF Merge

Select multiple PDF files and merge them into one. You can change the order before merging.

Page Extraction

Extract specific pages from a PDF file (e.g., pages 3-7, 12, 15-20).

Page Deletion

Delete specific pages from a PDF file. Select the pages to delete and save.

Image to PDF Conversion

Select images (JPG, PNG, BMP) and convert them into a single PDF file.

8. Encryption & Decryption

PDF Encryption

Click the Encrypt button, select a PDF file, set a password and save. The file will be protected - it can only be opened with the password.

Decryption

Select an encrypted PDF file, enter the original password, and save an unprotected version.

9. Watermark

Add transparent text on PDF pages:

  • Select a PDF file
  • Type the watermark text (e.g., "Draft", "Confidential")
  • Choose size, color and transparency
  • The text will appear diagonally on all pages

10. CRM System

Built-in client and case management system. Access via the Management menu or the side buttons.

Clients

Add, edit and delete clients. Fields: name, phone, email, address, notes.

Cases

Manage legal cases for each client. Fields: case number, case name, court, status.

Tasks

Manage tasks and deadlines for each case. Fields: description, due date, priority, status.

Export

Export all data to an Excel file (CSV) with one click.

11. Settings

Access via the Settings menu:

  • Office details - Office name, address, phone (appear on bundle cover page)
  • Logo - Upload office logo for the cover page
  • Save project - Save current work state for later loading
  • Load project - Load a saved project

12. Licensing & Activation

  • Trial period: 10 days free - all features available
  • After trial: An activation key is required to use the software
  • Enter key: In the activation window that appears, enter the activation key you received
  • Key locked to computer: Each key works on one computer

13. Updates

The software automatically checks for new versions at launch. You can also check manually via Help → Check for Updates.

If an update is available, a notification will appear with a link to download the new version. Your license is preserved - no need to reactivate.

14. Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Ctrl+O - Open project
  • Ctrl+S - Save project
  • Ctrl+N - New project
  • Delete - Delete selected exhibit
